Prineville Home Sales Mixed

The Prineville Oregon real estate market appears to be showing good sales the first half of 2024. While home prices are up year over year, it is at what is considered a normal healthy market increase. New listings are up, but so are sold and pending homes. Days on market are down and inventory levels are reflecting a strong buyer's market. It appears that people are moving to Prineville and there is demand for active listings in the market.

When the first half of 2024 is compared with the first half of 2023, the following changes for Prineville real estate sales can be noted:
  • Average sales price up 5.5% to $424,172*
  • Median sales price up 3% to $415,750
  • Average list price up 3.7% to $448,024
  • Median list price unchanged at $432,495
  • New listings up 13% to 179
  • Homes for sales down 17.4% to 57
  • Pending sales up 5.9% to 144
  • Sold homes up 11.2% to 129
  • Median days on market down 31.3% to 44
  • Months of supply down 17.1% to 2.9
  • Average price per square foot up 5.6% to $262
  • Average percent of list price received up .6% to 99.2
  • Dollar volume of closed homes up 17.3% to $54,718,191

Prineville Home Prices Considered Affordable for Central Oregon

With the median home price for Bend at $780,000, having home prices just over $400,000 in Prineville can create opportunities for home buyers who cannot afford other areas in Central Oregon. Even Redmond, which has often been considered a more affordable option to Bend, has $550,000 for a median home price. And Prineville, the oldest town in Central Oregon and the county seat of the entire area for over 30 years until Jefferson and Deschutes County were established, has a great history.
